Arizonans protest anti-drag bills.

Arizona residents gathered at the Arizona State Capitol to protest anti-drag & anti-LGBT bills proposed by Senator John Kavanagh and Senator Anthony Kern.

Some of the bills being protested:

  • Would ban public money from being used to pay for drag shows "targeting minors".

  • Violating this proposed law would not allow the person or entity from receiving or spending public money for 36 months.

  • Would regulate drag shows:

    • Require business licensing/permits.

    • Bans drag shows from being conducted 1:00AM-8:00AM every Monday-Saturday.

    • Bans drag shows from being conducted 1:00AM-12:00 Noon every Sunday.

  • Violating this proposed law would be a class 1 misdemeanor.

  • Would ban hosting drag performances on any public property where the view could be accessible to a minor.

  • Violating this proposed law would be a class 1 misdemeanor. Second and future offenses would be a class 6 felony.

Protestors demand 'revote' in Arizona.

Protestors rallied at the Arizona State Capitol in Phoenix, AZ on Black Friday to protest the midterm election results in Arizona. This comes as a result after Democratic candidates Katie Hobbs, Mark Kelly and Adrian Fontes won the Arizona gubernatorial, U.S. Senate and Secretary of State offices in the 2022 midterm elections. There is no law that would allow a "Revote" for any election in Arizona.
